Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK)
Travel and Ground Transport
(Beijing, China)
Located 27 km / 17 miles north-east of Beijing, the airport has limited but convenient public ground transportation options, with plenty of express buses, shuttles and taxis operating between the airport and locations in and around Beijing.
Most of the large hotels in the Chinese capital can arrange courtesy transportation.
Shuttle Buses
The Chinese government operates a convenient airport bus service between the airport and destinations around Beijing, with five routes available. Buses generally start running at 06:00 and stop after the last flight, with services operating at least hourly. The journey from the airport into the city takes about 60 minutes.
Hotel Shuttles
Many of the quality hotels located both near the airport and in downtown Beijing can arrange complimentary transfers for guests to and from Beijing Capital International Airport if requested prior to arrival. Check directly with your accommodation provider or travel agent if you require a pick up.
Taxi Cabs
Numerous metered taxi cabs await each arrival at Beijing Capital International and rates are very reasonable. Drivers are sometimes lacking in English language ability, so it's a good idea to have your final destination written down in Mandarin to show the driver and to make sure you are not taken to the wrong address. The airport's taxi stands are located just outside the Baggage Claim area of the first floor.
