Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK)
Airlines and Terminals
(Beijing, China)
With Beijing being the designated host of the Olympic Games in 2008, Beijing Capital International Airport is currently undergoing massive construction to add a third terminal to the existing Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Already a busy hub for business, government and vacation travellers, the airport has frequent daily flights to many major worldwide cities such as Singapore, Tokyo, London, Frankfurt, Geneva, Sydney, San Francisco, Vancouver, Paris, Hong Kong, Amsterdam and Chicago. United Airlines, Air Canada, Air France, Lufthansa, Qantas, Japan Airlines, Singapore Airlines and China Airlines all serve the facility.
Beijing Capital International Airport has two existing terminals, with most domestic and international flights utilising the much larger Terminal 2. A huge multi-storey parking garage situated outside Terminal 2 caters for the facility's parking requirements.
Terminal Information
Most visitors to Beijing's airport use Terminal 2, which caters to all international and domestic flights, with the exception of China Southern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines flights, which operate from Terminal 1. A free shuttle service ferries passengers between the two terminals in just a few minutes. Terminal 2 has three levels, with International Arrivals situated on Level 3; International Departures and Domestic Departures on Level 2; and Domestic Arrivals, International Baggage Claim and Domestic Baggage Claim on Level 1.
